Enrique Puertas is a Computer Science Engineer and holds a PhD in Applied Information Technologies. He is a professor in the Department of Computing and Technology at the European University in Madrid, where he has also directed the Master's Degree in Big Data Analytics. He is director of the research group ‘Artificial Intelligence and Human-Machine Interaction’, and member of the group ‘IASalud’. His research lines focus on the use of Artificial Intelligence and Big Data techniques applied to the clinical domain and intelligent transport systems. He is also co-author of the book ‘Manual práctico de Inteligencia Artificial en entornos sanitarios’. In his teaching role, he has more than 20 years of experience as a professor in the area of computer science, teaching undergraduate and postgraduate subjects related to Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, programming and User Interfaces. As a researcher, he has a SEXENIO (six-year research fellowship) recognised by ANECA-CNEAI, has participated in more than twenty European, national and regional research projects and contracts, and is the author of more than fifty publications in international journals and conferences. In addition to his work as a teacher and researcher, he has also collaborated extensively with the media on scientific dissemination issues. He has participated as an expert in media such as ABC, El País, Cadena SER, COPE, Telecinco, Cuatro, Telemadrid, TreceTV, La Sexta and RTVE.
