Enrique Puertas is a Computer Engineer and holds a PhD in Applied Information Technology. He is a lecturer in the Department of Science, Computing and Technology at the European University of Madrid, where he has also directed the Master's Degree in Big Data Analytics. He is director of the research group "Artificial Intelligence and Human-Machine Interaction", and member of the group "IASalud", and his lines of research focus on the use of Artificial Intelligence and Big Data techniques applied to the clinical field and intelligent transport systems. He is also co-author of the book "Manual práctico de Inteligencia Artificial en entornos sanitarios". As a teacher, he has more than 20 years of experience as a professor in the area of computer science, teaching subjects related to programming, User Interfaces, Artificial Intelligence and Big Data at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. As a researcher, he has participated in more than twenty European, national and regional research projects and contracts, and is the author of more than fifty publications in international journals and conferences. Among these publications, 20 of them are indexed in JRCR/SJR indexes and he has a SEXENIO of research recognised by ANECA-CNEAI. In addition to his work as a teacher and researcher, he has also collaborated extensively with the general media on scientific dissemination issues. He has participated as an expert in media such as ABC, El País, Cadena SER, Telecinco, Cuatro, Telemadrid, TreceTV, La Sexta and RTVE. In recent years he has won the Madrid City Council award for the best Open Data Project in the category of Social Innovation, the Fujitsu Linked Open Data award for the best project with linked data in the area of health, the award for the best application to promote justice granted by EmprendeLaw and the Ministry of Justice, the HackaTrips FITUR award for the best IT project on responsible tourism, the first prize in the II PLN and Language Technologies Hackathon organised by Red. es and the second prize Innomakers4Health organised by Pfizer.
