Abstract

The present research analyzes the interrelation between dance and the political ideologies instituted under of the totalitarian of Franco and Hitler regimes, which were reflected in their ways of understanding education and artistic culture. Although dance was a fundamental element in the construction of a national and cultural identity in both countries, it was approached from different premises and perspectives: avant-garde (Nazism) and tradition (Francoism).
