Doctor by the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid with the thesis El derecho de las relaciones exteriores y la aplicación del derecho internacional de los derechos humanos en América Latina: el caso de Argentina 2024. Supervised by Dr. Carlos Espósito Massicci.
Ignacio G. Perotti Pinciroli is Assistant Professor of International Law and Human Rights and Director of the Master’s in Human Rights at Universidad Europea de Madrid. He is also a member of the Max Planck Law Fellow Group “Communities of Practice and the Transnational Production of Human Rights Knowledge in Latin America”, coordinated by René Urueña. He holds a PhD in Law, Governance and Public Policies (specialised in International Law) from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, two LLMs from the same university —in Global Governance and Human Rights, and in Legal Research—, as well as a Law degree and a Master’s in Criminal Law from Universidad Nacional de Cuyo (Argentina), where he also taught Human Rights. His research focuses on international law and human rights, with particular emphasis on the domestic application of international law in Latin America and the Inter-American Human Rights System. He has taken part in numerous conferences and research projects in these fields, and was a research fellow at the Spanish Constitutional Court and a visiting fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law in Heidelberg. Before entering academia, he worked for almost a decade as legal officer and court clerk in judicial proceedings concerning crimes against humanity committed during Argentina’s last dictatorship.
