ROSCALES GARCIA

Silvia Roscales graduated in Chemistry at Complutense University of Madrid (UCM) in 2009. She began her doctoral studies in Organic Chemistry at the same University under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Aurelio García Csákÿ thanks to the granting of an FPU fellowship from Ministry of Education. The topic of the thesis was the development of new reactions of boronic acids in the presence and absence of transition metals. In 2014 she did a pre-doctoral stay at ETH Zürich (Switzerland) where she acquired the basic knowledge to carry out synthesis with radioactive elements. In January 2015, she defended her doctoral thesis (Extraordinary Award) and in October of the same year she moved to Dresden (Germany) where she did a postdoctoral stay at the Institute of Radiopharmaceutical Cancer Research of the Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf thanks to the granting of a fellowship from the Ramón Areces Foundation to deepen their knowledge in radiosynthesis using 18-Fluorine. In October 2016, thanks to the Torres Quevedo Grant from the Ministry of Economy, she was hired for 3 years by the company Instituto Tecnológico PET (IT-PET, currently CuriumPharma Spain) to design and develop new synthetic routes for radiopharmaceuticals commonly used in hospitals marked with 18-Fluorine. In addition, during these 3 years, she actively collaborated with the Organic Synthesis group of the Pluridisciplinary Institute of the UCM, developing new reactions of boronic acids in the absence of transition metals, and co-directing Final Degree and Master's Projects, and the Doctoral Thesis of Dr. Víctor Ortega Garrido, a group in which she was later hired as Research Support Personnel (Nov. 2020 - Sept. 2022). In April 2020, she was accredited by ANECA for the figures of Assistant Doctor Professor, Contracted Doctor Professor and Private University Professor. Since September 2021, she is a professor in the Department of Health Sciences at the European University of Madrid and belongs to the research group "Organic Synthesis and Bioevaluation" of the Pluridisciplinary Institute UCM. To date, she is the co-author of 21 scientific articles (in 19 of them she is the first author), 7 review articles and one book. During these years, she has participated in different research projects, conferences and has acted as a referee for international journals.
