Résumé

In this paper we will delve into the contemporary carnival. We will try to demonstrate whether behind the symbolic masquerade of current leisure events, such as raves, or those relating to national folklore, such as Holy Week, the same sociocultural structures are hidden, and thus, the deviancy in tune with them. In order to do so, we will carry out an ethnographic approach form Cultural Criminology (Hayward & Young, 2008), that will allow us to observe how the theory of the carnival of crime (Presdee, 2000) becomes consistent in both scenarios.
