Résumé

Within the context of dual careers, this study aims to explore the influence of the types of motivation and passion towards sport on the importance of young footballers not only to achieve future achievements in their sporting life, but also the importance that they give to get future achievements in the academic sphere. In this study participated 478 young elite players who filled questionnaires based on the theoretical models proposed. The regression analysis shows that giving importance to developing an academic career in the future has negative influences in the development of amotivation and obsessive passion on the football field and, in addition, it has a positive effect on the development of autonomous motivation towards their sport. Results also show that perceiving as important to achieve future achievements in sports life has a positive influence on the harmonious passion and negative influence on amotivation. These results could support that the development an academic life alternative to a sport life could have a direct influence on psychosocial variables directly related with the development sport skills.
