Abstract

The aim of this paper is to review the role played by book covers through the different book revolutions and explore their future potential contributions. Considering the current visual communication scenario, definitively marked by the progressive dematerialization of the book as an object, the key question is how its adaptation to the digital context will be. Furthermore, If we take on account aspects as the huge cultural con- tribution that covers coming from Alianza Editorial authors- as Daniel Gil or Manuel Estrada- add, the need to assess the impact of its disappearance is even more important.
