Alejandro Alberca González is a licensed health psychologist with a degree in Psychology from the Complutense University of Madrid (2007), where he completed the Clinical Psychology track. He has been authorized to practice as a health professional by the Community of Madrid since 2008. His training includes several postgraduate specializations in clinical and neuropsychological fields, such as Addictions and Psychosomatic Disorders (2008), Neuropsychological Assessment (2011), and the use of Virtual Reality in Clinical Practice (2008). He also holds a Master’s Degree in Teacher Training in Secondary and Upper Secondary Education (2022). His professional career has developed at the intersection of psychology, education, and emerging technologies. Since 2008, he has worked as a health psychologist in private clinical settings such as the Center for Therapies and Mental Health (CTYSM) and Clínica Madrid, providing care for both adult and child-adolescent populations. In the educational field, he served as a school psychologist at Colegio Madrigal (2007–2012), conducting psychoeducational evaluations and interventions. He currently serves as a university lecturer and Director of the Master’s Program in Neuroeducation and Learning Difficulties at Universidad Europea de Madrid. He has collaborated with academic institutions such as UNIR, Universidad San Pablo CEU, and Universidad Francisco de Vitoria, teaching in postgraduate programs and supervising external internships. From 2015 to 2020, he led content development at the digital health startup PocketCare, focused on psychological well-being. He is also a founding member of the Distance Psychology Association. For seven years, he collaborated with Psious (now Amelia Virtual Care), contributing to the development and clinical validation of virtual reality-based psychological treatment tools. Since 2023, he has coordinated the Working Group on Online Psychological Practice at the Official College of Psychologists of Madrid, promoting best practices and professional reflection on digital mental health care. His research focuses on the integration of emerging technologies into clinical and educational contexts, with particular interest in virtual reality and, more recently, artificial intelligence. He has presented at national and international conferences on immersive techniques for emotional regulation, neuroeducation, and the use of digital tools in mental health. His scientific contributions include a scientometric analysis on the application of virtual reality in health and education, as well as ongoing research on the impact of artificial intelligence in these fields.
