Doctor by the Universidad Complutense de Madrid with the thesis Estudios moleculares de una familia de bacteriófagos atemperados de s. Pneumoniae 1991. Supervised by Dr. Pedro García González.

She is a Doctor and Professor in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. She has worked in research in different public organizations and in a Biotechnology company, where she was director of the production and research laboratories. She was also an Interim University Professor at the Polytechnic University of Madrid, Higher Technical School of Agricultural Engineers. In 2010 she joined the European University of Madrid, where she mainly teaches Biochemistry in the Medicine Degree. Her area of ​​research is human genetics, the relationship between genetics and sport, and the pharmacogenetics of cancer. She has 32 publications and has participated in many research projects and national and international scientific congresses. During the year 2014 she directed and presented the program "Bioquímica de andar por casa" on Radio 5, Radio Nacional: http://www.rtve.es/alacarta/audios/bioquimica-de-andar-por-casa/ She is accredited by ANECA as a Private University Professor and has three six-year terms recognized by the National Commission for the Evaluation of research activity.
