Zusammenfassung

BIM is the technological enabler that opens the door to digitization in the construction sector (Construction 4.0). The improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of the processes and with it the optimization of investments is the great argument for which in some countries its use in public investments is obligatory. Directive 2014/24 / EU opened the door to its use and recommended that member countries implement it in public tenders. With the approval of Law 9/2017 on public sector contracts in Spain, enables the public sector to include BIM as a requirement in its tenders. In recent years it has been a gradual and significant increase in the number and budget of public tenders that have included BIM requirements. The autonomous administration began leading this process, although the local and, especially, the state administration are joining forces.
