Abstract

Objetive: to analyze the effectiveness of coronal and radicular translation movement with different types of attachments in canines during space closure with maximum anchorage in cases of planned first premolar extractions. Materials and methods: 160 cases published in the Invisalign® Global Gallery were included in this study. The canine translation movement was compared between the initial ClinCheck and the ClinCheck of additional aligners. The mean movement was calculated according to the type of attachment used. Results: statistically significant differences were observed between the vertical rectangular attachment and the double retraction attachment in the ANOVA test, with a greater radicular translation movement observed with the double retraction attachment (p < 0.05). Conclusions: – a greater coronal movement was observed compared to radicular movement.– The optimized double retraction attachment proved to be the most effective in achieving radicular movement.– The optimized single root control attachment proved to be the least effective in achieving radicular movement.
