Abstract
The gingival crevicular fluid seems to be the most promising mean for detecting periodontal disease's activity. This paper analyses the contributions of the study of the gingival crevicular fluid to the periodontal diagnosis. Te most important works on the usefulness of the different markers present in such a fluid are also reviewed.
