Abstract
The task of exposing the complex and long conflict in Western Sahara is taken up by Professor Isaías Barreñada in his latest book: Brief History of Western Sahara. Resistance to Realpolitik, published in 2022 by Editorial La Catarata. The value of the book is in main two features. On the one hand, the author's ability to synthesize and explain in a clear and coherent way the evolution of the conflict throughout history, as well as the incidence of the different actors. On the other hand, Professor Barreñada's audacity not remaining in the mere description of facts, but approaching from a critical perspective the various positions and interests that are at stake, above all, pointing out the responsibility of Spain in the matter.
