Resumen

As a conclusion of current autonomous vehicles trials, researchers point out that to achieve level 5 autonomous driving it is necessary to include two new elements: 1) connectivity with its environment through V2X communications for the exchange of information with all the elements that are part of road transport, and 2) the participation of the road infrastructure itself as a source of processed information, providing the so-called Cooperative Systems (C-ITS). The main objective of this work is the research and development of technologies with projection towards cooperative, connected and autonomous driving focusing to solve high complex scenarios, mainly highway ramp accesses, intersections and roundabouts, in cooperation with the infrastructure in the local level (edge) up to the Traffic Management Center (C-ITS) level, including the information integration in a global situational awareness system. Some tests of the collaboration between infrastructure and vehicles are showing the possibilities of this solution.
