Abstract

The present study describes both the implementation and the results of a trainingin assertiveness. S. is a 24-years-old man with an aggressive communication style towardshis father, his partner and his friends. In order to reduce the frequency of conflicts whereS.´s response is aggressive, an assertiveness training is proposed. The effectiveness is assessedby self-report registries on a weekly basis. The psychological intervention was madeup of twenty four sessions: five assessment sessions, sixteen cognitive-behavioral sessionsand three follow-up sessions. The results, mainly based on self-reports, showed a changeon his communication pattern that allowed him to significantly improve with an adaptivebehavior.
