Iran represents one of the central players in current regional dynamics in the Middle East and in international relations. His nuclear aspirations and the objectives of his foreign policy, as well as the actions carried out on the regional scene, make it an outstanding protagonist and object of study necessary to understand the current circumstances of the area. Iran's position on the main challenges in the environment is directly determined by the approaches followed by President Hassan Rouhani and his Government. Since 2013, under the presidency of Rouhani, Iran has developed a singular and complex foreign action, which tries to differentiate itself from some of the premises on which the international agenda of former president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad pivoted, while seeking to adapt the profile of Iran in abroad in the face of the number of changes and challenges that have arisen in recent years. Professor Luciano Zaccara from the Gulf Studies Center of the University of Qatar coordinates and edits the book: Foreign Policy of Iran under President Hassan Rouhani first term (2013-2017), which presents a comprehensive exposition of the many factors that condition the international politics of Iran.
