Abstract

The Spanish Navy has to be ready to tace 21 st century terrorist attacks and guarantee the defence of íts facilities and Spanish territorial waters. To this effect ít is necessary to conduct studies to analyse the methods of modem-day terrorist attacks, which have changed considerably since 9111. An analysis must also be made of prevailing legislation and an intense search should be made wíth respect to the physical barriers and new anti-intrusion technologies required to guarantee the impenetrabilfty of mílítary ports, from both land and sea. A study shou/d a/so be conducted of the risks facing a milítary port and the preventíve measures applíed to mítígate or eliminate such risks. In the present work, a practical case-study is made by adapting the Port of Malaga to milítary use. The altemative has been selected by the ELECTRE multi-criteria decision analysis method and calculations have been prepared far the new infrastructure and its foundations, together wíth the p/ans, budget and planning, through the use of BIM methodology, which is expected to be adopted by the Spanish Administration in the short term.
