La Corte Penal Internacional, ¿un modelo válido en el siglo XXI?

Abstract

The International Criminal Court has been an excellent outcome for the international community, as it has permitted that certain serious crimes linked to Human Rights violations have been put under an international jurisdiction. In spite of its overall success, twenty years after the writing of the Statute of Rome, it is necessary to reform the Court. This reform should cover various aspects: from its material competence, membership, procedure, communication and awareness approach that Human Rights protection and promotion require to the possible integration of a working line on transitional justice. There are many challenges, obstacles and difficulties in this respect. However, it is worth to set an action plan to renew one of the best international institutions created in the XX Century. Thanks to it, all citizens in the world know that se rious violations of Human Rights won’t be unpunished any more.
