Résumé
During the XXth and XXIst centuries Costa Rica has reached a social and economic development of high importance, but: ¿will these achievements be sufficient in order to face the challenges of current world`s economic context? Do there exist the conditions and capacities for innovation? Costa Rica shows satisfactory marks regarding economic, human and institutional development; nevertheless, results are not so optimal as regards productive, scientific and technological infrastructure. Scientific and technological research and ¿innovation? in Costa Rica do show and important public and transnational component.
