Abstract

Introduction: Dental avulsion is the most severe and severe dental trauma and requires immediate attention. The measures adopted in the first moments of the emergency will determine the forecast of the piece. Objective: Determine the knowledge that parents, teachers, non-teaching staff of schools and sports coaches have about the first aid that must be adopted in the event of a dental avulsion. Methodology: This study analyzed a total of 546 surveys of parents, staff of primary and secondary schools and sports coaches of the Community of Madrid between October 2018 and February 2019. Results and Discussion: Immediate reimplantation was the option chosen by 1% of the respondents (p= 0,001). Only 3,47% responded that the avulsed tooth “should by taken by the crown, not brushed, stored in milk, saline or saliva from the patient and go to a dentist within one hour” measures that may favor the prognosis of the reimplanted piece. Conclusion: Parents, teachers, coaches and non-teaching staff of the schools do not have the adequate training to act against a dental avulsion.
