Résumé

Objectives: to assess the possibility of using intraoral frontal pho-tographs (IFP) to measure the Wala ridge in posterior crossbite cases by comparing these with measurements taken from plaster models. To diagnose the presence of bone problems.Material and methods: the selected sample was made up of 72 growing patients with a posterior crossbite. Bone component was studied using IFPs and study models. Student’s t-test was used for the data analysis.Results: the data obtained from the measurements in the photo-graphs and models was similar, with p < 0.05.Conclusion: IFP is a valid method for diagnosing skeletal prob-lems.
