Objectives: To evaluate the importance and increase in the use of aesthetic crowns in pediatric dentistry, and to study the different types available on the market. Material and methods: A research of the scientific evidence was carried out over the last 11 years using different databases. Results: Eleven different types of esthetic crowns are described: characteristics, advantages, disadvantages... Conclusions: The use of crowns has increased in recent decades. In areas with complicated occlusion and for patients with parafunctional habits, the use of acrylic crowns is recommended. When looking for aesthetics and resistance, the use of porcelain crowns is recommended.
