Mejoras del Método Pilates en el equilibrio

Resumen

Pilates es un método de acondicionamiento físico cuyos beneficios se han extendido al mundo sanitario. Diferentes estudios muestran que, entre otros beneficios, Pilates ayuda a mejorar la postura. Una evaluación objetiva de la misma puede ser obtenida por el análisis del equilibrio. El propósito del estudio fue evaluar, mediante plataforma de presiones, el equilibrio en dos grupos, los que realizan Pilates y los que no lo realizan. Se evaluaron a 124 personas divididos en dos grupos: 59 personas que practicaban Pilates y 65 personas que no practicaban Pilates. Los resultados obtenidos muestran una mejoría considerable para las personas que han realizado Pilates en las cuatro pruebas realizadas (ojos abiertos, cerradas y posición monopodal con ambos pies).
