Abstract
The effect of new ICTs has been especially intense in the tourism industry. Their fast implantation is one of the causes of the disappearance of a large number of agencies and the intense industry transformation in recent years. Efficiency levels may be the key to remain in this scenario so competitive and innovative. A study of the effectiveness of the on line and off line travel agencies can determine the future composition of the industry. Using Sellers and Más (2009) methodology, the travel agencies industry is divided between traditional and online agencies according to their type of operation. Then the current industry context is analyzed.
