Abstract

This paper focuses on the immigration news in the Spanish press, using the principles of critical discourse analysis to evaluate the phenomenon of foreign immigration in the Spanish media in times of crisis. The data was collected between October and November of 2008, reviewing during two full weeks Spanish newspapers like El País, ABC, ADN and 20 minutos) and also between March and April of the year 2010, gathering a total of 604 articles for its further analysis
