Abstract

Intrusive luxation in temporary teeth involves the displacement of the tooth into the alveolar bone at the bottom of the dental socket, and may be impacted on the permanent tooth. The prevalence of sequelae in permanent teeth due to trauma varies greatly according to studies; although the injuries that are most associated with the appearance of sequelae are the intrusion and avulsion of the primary teeth. In this article, a clinical case of a 5-year-old patient who suffered two trauma to a temporary central incisor is presented, ending with an intrusive dislocation in which the dental apex was exposed through the vestibular gum. After the clinical and radiological diagnosis, it is decided to extract the intruded tooth to facilitate the correct eruption of the permanent tooth. At 5 months the eruption of the permanent tooth occurred, which presents an alteration in the enamel as a consequence of the trauma.
