Abstract

If there’s something that have left a mark in the opera genre from the beginning is the audience that have gone to its stage shows. In the 20th century, with the rising of cinema, opera came to a crisis, the audience had another mass show to assist, cheaper and closer to the way of cultural consumption on that times. Opera became a place for elites capable, those who can high prizes of the season tickets. Nowadays, some decisions taken from Opera Halls all over the world, are increasing interest in the genre in a postmodern society where technology seems to have dried up its limitations in space and in time. Operas with librettos based on films or in contemporary characters, operas that show technical wonders in sound and image made by great names in art and design. An idea of opera that reminds to those times, when it was a show that implied all the artistic disciplines and assumed the evolution of technology in a natural way.
