Abstract
One of the most demanded skill and commented in different environments, is the Emotional Intelligence. Many authors have attempted to provide a definition of this construct, difficult to acquire and transmit at all levels of education. The proposal of this communication is to obtain information from teachers with professional experience in higher education. The need for this skill in the teacher’s curriculum of the XXI century will be assessed through interviews. As a main conclusion, the teachers in higher education believe they need more training to develop this skill in students.
